Why should I complete my profile?

Let the Community know who you are! Complete your profile to put a face to your username and make it easier to connect with your peers. Think of it as your personal introduction to the rest of the community—a way to let everyone know who you are, your role, the company you work for, and a bit about yourself. Here’s a little more about how to craft your persona. 

How do I update my email and profile?

Need to update your work email? No problem! Just shoot us an email at ‘thenetwork@trimble.com’ with your new address, and we’ll handle the rest. This way, you’ll keep all your badges, points, ranks, and everything else you’ve worked hard to earn.

Want to freshen up your profile? Edit your profile anytime by clicking your avatar icon and hitting the “Edit Profile” button. Easy as pie!

Who is The Network Community Team?

What are all the different areas in The Network?

Navigating a new community can be tricky, but don’t worry—we’ve got you! Here is a rundown of all our modules and what they can do for you.

1. Get Connected
   This is where the peer-to-peer magic happens! 🌟 This area is your go-to spot for asking questions and starting conversations with other Network members. Start in the Welcome category to get all your questions about getting started in The Network answered.
2. Resource Center
   The Resource Center is designed to help you learn more about the Trimble products and solutions you use. Here, you can dive into product Pro Tips, training materials, and other educational content. You'll also find information on eLearning, training courses, instructor-led classes, certifications, and learning plans that are available in Trimble Learn and Viewpoint Academy.
3. Product Updates 
   The Product Updates section, just as the name implies, is all about the latest product releases, release notes, feature enhancements, and more. You can filter by product and subscribe to the channels that matter most to you. This is also where you'll get the scoop on new Trimble products.
4. Events
   We host a wide variety of events. From product and educational webinars to workshops and in-person events, visit Events to learn about all our upcoming and past events (psst… we host our on-demand webinar library here). Plus, you can easily register for any event right from the page!
5. Network Community Groups
   Looking for an easy way to connect with Network members who share similar roles and using the same Trimble solutions? Check out our Groups. Groups enable you to connect with other Network members based on shared products, roles, interests, and locations. Each Group features a dedicated discussion forum where you can engage, ask questions, and delve into topics that are important to you.
   If you’re interested in starting a User Group in your area but aren’t sure how to get started, we’re here to help! Just let us know. For more information on Groups, visit this article. 
6. Ideas & Suggestions
   At Trimble, your feedback informs our roadmap, and we are always looking for ways to improve. Go to Ideas & Suggestions to share your enhancement ideas and product suggestions with the Trimble product teams. While you are there, be sure to check out other customers' ideas and vote for your favorites.

How do I create a post?

Creating a post in The Network is easier than you think. You can do it in 7 easy steps:

1. Click the "+ Create Topic" button 
2. Pick Your Post Type
3. Create a Title
4. Write Your Post
5. Choose a Category
6. Add Tags (optional)
7. Hit the Blue “Create” Button

How can I earn points?

As you dive into The Network, you’ll start racking up points and climbing the ranks just by being active. You automatically climb ranks as you make comments, create topics, give and receive likes, and more. Curious about the ranks and how to earn points? Check them out here.

But wait, there’s more! As you climb the ranks, you’ll unlock sweet perks like gift cards, Trimble swag, and other surprises. So get involved, have fun, and start earning those points! 

How do I get badges?

Badges are our way of celebrating your amazing accomplishments in The Network. Badges are automatically awarded as you complete various tasks, like giving feedback on a Trimble product, joining a panel, having your answers marked as the best, and so much more. Want to see which badges you or someone else has earned? Just head over to their profile! Curious about all the badges out there? You can browse the entire badge catalog by clicking the “Show All Badges” button on the right side of your screen, just below the most recent badge winners.

If you feel you are missing a badge, let us know here, and a member of the Network Community Team will look into it for you.

What are groups? 

Groups enable you to connect with other Network members based on shared products, roles, interests, and locations. Each Group features a dedicated discussion forum where you can engage, ask questions, and delve into topics that are important to you. Joining a public group is as easy as clicking the “Join Group” button. For private groups, just hit “Request to Join” and wait for your invitation and message from The Network Community Team. Visit us here for more information and then jump into a group today!

How can I access private messages?

Want to chat one-on-one with someone on The Network? It’s super easy! There are two main ways you can privately message people on The Network. 

1. Use the Inbox Icon - When you hover over someone’s profile picture, a pop-up box appears showing their info and badges. In the top right corner of this box, you’ll see a little mail icon—click it, and voilà! You’re taken straight to a direct message page.
2. From a Member’s Profile Page - Instead of just hovering, click on their profile picture! This takes you to their full profile page, where you can follow or unfollow them and send a direct message to start a chat.
