Our next step on the eventual path to Unity Maintain per documentation seems to be to get our on premises install up to the latest 23.x version, currently 23.11. I’ve been doing some reading and research and found this article very helpful: https://cityworks.my.site.com/s/article/UpgradeFrom15-8-xTo23-x.  The article is dated 1/29/2025 so it came out prior to 23.11. If I understand correctly we can jump straight to the latest 23.x by doing the following:Run the 23.2 Database Manager and Data Migration toolsRun the 23.11 overall application installs (we intend to go with Office Companion in parallel) including Database Manager and Data Migration again. The intent is to install the 23.11 Office Companion on the existing site url and the 23.11 Cityworks application on its own new url on the same server. Immediate question(s) are:While an oversimplification, is that really it?Do we need to also run the Database Manager and Data Migration tools at any other patch level between 23.2 and 23.

Is there a way to search for multiple work order ID's in Respond? In office you can search for multiple work order IDs, but separating the ID's with a comma. In respond the search box does not function like that.

The 'Add to' selection option does not work for us in 23.10 Respond. The 'Remove from' current selection does work correctly, though.

There can be multiple inspections that contain the same answer to QuestionID 524 but only 1 should match both 524 and 525. I'm trying to do this with a Respond Query to learn how to do it with the API. I need to get the InspectionID from the results to programmatically update the inspection with some new data. Something Like below but that works: Inspection(InspTemplateId = 10 , Questions(QuestionId = 524 AND Answer = Contains("1506"), AND Questions(QuestionId = 525 AND Answer = Contains("1230")))

I am installing a new Cityworks version 23.x site and was wondering if the Active reports connection string is the same as the core application connection string? Thanks.

We are running Cityworks Version 23.10 and Respond Version 5.8. We had this issue in the prior version as well. We will be going along and using Active reports and then we get this error on the screen when trying to preview the report?  When we click details we don't get much of a message either. We check IIS logs and event viewer on app server and not anything there besides a 500 error. We have submitted a couple cases to Cityworks but haven't received any good diagnosis tips or a fix. If we reset IIS, the error goes away. Very frustrating. Any suggestions?

I have just upgraded my Dev site to CW 23.11 and when opening a report I get the following error message: Connection test failed! These data sources couldn't open connection: (Name of Cityworks DB).

We would like a list of specific bugs or known issues with Active Reports identified in Cityworks 23.11 that have fixes under development for the 23.12 release. We are hoping to do development work with a client under 23.11 to be ready for 23.12. Thanks!

Hello, is it possible to add the Audit Log for service requests in Respond version 4.3?I have it for work orders and would like to have it for requests also, like it is in office.thanks

In which table is the information for custom fields stored? Having a difficult time finding it, would like to use Power BI for reporting.

Is there a way to export comments on a task out to a .txt file? (Or any other format)

I didn't see many screenshots or detailed examples of Power Automate use for Cityworks API so here's my little offering: I'm on 23.10. I'm an API and programming newby, so please offer any advice, tips, or tricks if you have them. I am lucky to be allowed the latitude to do a lot of testing and playing around since I happen to also be the Cityworks Administrator. Hopefully I can develop some new tools that help my organization. I've gotten some good integrations going already with Survey123 and the Cityworks API using Python. Instead of 'polling' for new Survey123 submissions with Windows Task running a python script on some recurring interval of minutes, I'd rather use a webhook to parse and process Survey123 submissions into service requests using Power Automate, which will happen virtually immediately, for every submission. I'm just posting this for posterity since I had to get help with the proper Authorization header syntax for passing a token for API calls. Maybe this will save s

I would like to prevent certain users, or possibly certain groups from searching work orders from the search page or viewing saved searches. I can hide the buttons, but is there a way to prevent certain users from viewing the WOSearch page all together? Office Companion CWOLC

When creating a table Dashboard widget in Respond (4.3) for Materials is there a trick to getting the Stock on Hand to display? I keep getting the Stock on Hand as 0 in the table widget but the search results show results.

We just moved from Cityworks 15.6.8 to Cityworks 23.10 on both our production and test/training systems. We are an "On-Prem" shop. In the past I was able to successfully backup our production database and restore it to our test environment in order to refresh the data in the test system. Our production and test databases are hosted on the same database server. Does this method still work with CW23? If not, is anyone aware of any up to date documentation explaining how to do this? FYI - I did find one post on this site that covers the topic, but it's from 2022 and for 15.X.X versions. Also, will backing up and restoring a database using this method wipe out customized Style profiles designed on the test system? I'm assuming it won't because I believe they are stored outside the database in JSON files. I'll backup the profiles regardless, but I just want to make sure. Cheers, Dave

Hello Cityworks Team,Thank you for the recent communication outlining the updated product support stages. I understand that products in the Sunsetting phase will no longer receive enhancements or bug fixes, but will still be eligible for standard technical support.Could you please confirm whether critical security updates will continue to be provided for products in the Sunsetting phase? We are evaluating our upgrade timelines and need to fully understand the risk exposure associated with remaining on these versions during our transition planning.Appreciate your clarification.

For some reason I thought I was told the issue would be corrected in 5.9 but they still don't work in Chrome. Thanks!

When i open my map in respond all the defaults appear on.When i toggle their visibility off, and then log out and back in, they just come back on again.I can't see a user preferences setting for this.

Has anyone successfully implemented Field Validation when a work order is closed without an associated asset? In admin, when setting it up, I'm unable to locate the field in the pulldown menu compared to what I see in a query.

Good Day,  Our utility arborist has grown tired of going to door-to-door and leaving notification hangers for when they'll be doing to work in a given area. He has been using advanced query to export addresses, and it's kind of worked in very specific instances.  Ideally, he would like to select a number of work orders from the map, make magic happen, and export a street address list. The hard part is making the magic happen.  Can anyone think of anyway to grab a random set of WO's and get data from the selected WO's? I've thought about using various dates (won't work because reasons), using street names, (sometimes WO's for a street are broken up over several weeks, so not great).  Any thoughts?  Thank you,  -Mike

Is there a way to order your workorders in the inbox by latest changed workorder?

We are in the process of migrating our ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabase from SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2022. It looks like we need to repoint and republish map services consumed by Cityworks, but I was not sure if there are any Cityworks configurations that tie directly to our Enterprise geodatabase. From a Cityworks perspective, are there any configuration changes in the Designer or Admin panels we need to make, or other considerations that need to be taken into account? I have not done a SQL Server migration before any insights would be helpful. Thanks
