How to get addresses for pre-existing work orders from map selection

Good Day,

Our utility arborist has grown tired of going to door-to-door and leaving notification hangers for when they'll be doing to work in a given area. He has been using advanced query to export addresses, and it's kind of worked in very specific instances.

Ideally, he would like to select a number of work orders from the map, make magic happen, and export a street address list. The hard part is making the magic happen.

Can anyone think of anyway to grab a random set of WO's and get data from the selected WO's? I've thought about using various dates (won't work because reasons), using street names, (sometimes WO's for a street are broken up over several weeks, so not great).

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

-Mike

There's a few ways you could do this, depending on how your work is organized and what the end goal is. I'm not clear on what you mean by "a random set of WO's".

Assuming you want to start by selecting from the map, one way would be to create an event layer that contains all the work orders the arborist is interested in. Then you can draw an arbitrary selection area (i.e. any polygon, not just a rectangle) on the map and select all the work orders within it. Here's an example - I only want the tree removal work orders in the triangular area:

    "tree_work_order_selection"

If the saved search defining the event layer includes the address, it will shown in the results which you can export to CSV:

    "tree_removal_addresses"

    Allen,

Good afternoon. Random set of work orders meaning not easily found with a saved query. The polygon is exactly what what our aborist wants to do. Grab whatever work orders he needs, then export a list of addresses. And it works exactly like you demonstrated, in Office.

I left out a MAJOR piece of information, we use Respond, on Platform 23x. So..we don't the list of attributes like we used to in Respond that are exportable.

    Looks a bit like this:

Unfortunately no... the removal of the 'results table' at the bottom of the map is a big step back in Respond. As far as I know there's no way to open more than one work activity at a time from the map.

I'm running Office Companion and Respond simultaneously and that is one of the major problems we have with Respond.

I agree, it is big step backwards.

We run both as well, but I try to avoid it as much as possible.

I might have figured out a work around, using eURLS and a web app. Our GIS group has done something similar before (creating mailing lists) for City Engineers. I'm thinking the same concept can be used..it is a work around, multiple apps, but it will get the job done).

We'll have to consider which is easier (and more sustainable and flexible) for end-users OC or the web app idea.

    Thanks again,

Hello, If your EURL is set to include an address field, could you possibly copy the selected records from the asset details and paste into a spreadsheet? It may take a couple of copy and paste actions depending on the number of returned records. My Work Activities list is limited to 10 records per page. If someone knows how to increase that limit, I would be very happy to know how it was done!

My non-GISP description of what we've done.

We created the necessary eURL and gave the link to our GIS staff. They used AGOL Experience builder to create a very basic web map/app using that eURL.

Users can grab the appropriate WO's, open table view and export it to a CSV file. CSV file can be opened/imported as normal.

Pretty straight forward process. The screen looks web app/map looks like this:

"image"I'm just need to update the eURL to reflect only the fields we need (location, start date etc. ) don't need them all.

We might make it public so we can embed into Respond dashboard instead of having staff open and login to yet another application. We'll see.

Thank you for helping me find a solution work-around.
