Respond Map not remembering layer visibility settings

When i open my map in respond all the defaults appear on.

When i toggle their visibility off, and then log out and back in, they just come back on again.

I can't see a user preferences setting for this.

What version are you on? I'm on 23.10 and I'm also noticing that even just a manual refresh of a page will reset visibility settings, not even a relog.

    Also on 23.10.

Same thing happening here, refreshing of pages, or moving between pages triggers the defaults to load over the saved user settings.

We've adjusted the default visibility of some of the GIS layers in the services, but this isn't an ideal solution.

Same with us, very irritating. Ideally map layer visibility settings would be stored in the database for each user so that as they move from iPads in the field to their desktop computer, use different computers, or clear their cache, their map visibility settings would be retained.

I'm not 100% sure. Our maps look like they have nested layer groups but I'm not familiar enough with ESRI/AGOL to confirm how they are set up.

    Looks like this though

"image.png"Our basemaps are a little more interesting. Our default is aerial photography which is in cityworks as a dynamic map service. our projection is 102747 (2284).

    I would recommend this test:

Create a test web map (using the AGOL map viewer) and throw it whatever random ESRI basemap like 'light grey canvas'.

If you're using a Feature Service, you can add the whole layer group in the AGOL map viewer and click the [...] next to the layer group and select 'ungroup'.

    "image"

This option isn't available for map services.

If you are using a Map Service instead of a Feature Service:

Add your layers to the map individually by using the REST endpoint for each one separately, so that they are not within a 'layer group' but are instead all in the 'root' of the layer list.

    ---

Add this web map reference to Cityworks and create a 'test' GIS Services - Service Definition group the same way you have your other group(s) set up, and add your individual user or a test user account to that GIS Service group. Test out that map with that user in Respond and see if the layer visibility persists after logout/login.

Do either of you use a AGOL or Portal map with 'layer groups'? I had an issue where it seems Respond did not honor any layer visibily within the layer groups, only the parent layer group.

Another question that might seem random: what basemap are you using and if it's a custom basemap/vector tile, what projection is it using?
