I know our company has pretty much tripled the amount of woman working here in the last 2 years alone. We are now a woman owned construction company which is really exciting! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you cannot do something.

Normalize images of women in construction. I only see those images during this ‘special' week, and never through the rest of the year. Everyone needs to see that women are here all through the year so that it becomes something that isn't ‘special'.

Construction hasn't been an attractive industry and is not promoted enough in high school or by parents.

Reaching out to local High Schools to offer tours that showcase women working in the field and the office is a great way to demonstrate that women can be a part of the construction industry.

While college is great, it's not for everyone. Start reaching out to middle and high schools promoting careers and opportunities.

We need programs to continue to recruit and promote women in construction. This is a resource that will allow us to continue to grow and expand successful projects.

Showing that women are valued in an organization also means that they are represented at all levels equally as well. Promoting from within can foster a positive environment for those new to the workforce to be engaged.

Contractors should promote a culture where women (and all people) feel safe, are valued for their skills, and treated as professionals. Don't tolerate bigotry.

Change the way women feel about construction. I think the stigma about working in construction as a women is still very prominent.
