There needs to be more discussion at the high school level with regards to the many opportunities in the construction industry. From the trades on up to project engineers and project managers, etc.

I work for an industrial maintenance company in finance which has been male-dominated in the past. I see more women positions in the industry and it's great!

Over the past 27 years I have seen some improvement for women in construction but we have a long ways to go. Women have a lot to offer and should be encouraged to take on the construction world. Construction can be very rewarding.

When women are involved in construction they offer a different perspective and voice to an industry that can use diversity of thought and work.

Women are more than office staff - we are in the field getting dirty with the boys!

I am currently watching the change happen in my own company and others. I think we need to continue to foster a culture that welcomes women in our workplaces.

I have been in the construction industry for 19 years now and recognition has definitely become better. Working with five other women and seeing them grow into estimators, which is a predominate male position has been inspiring too.

Jobs in the construction industry should be promoted more through volcational schools to reach young women while they are still in high school.

Out of the office and into the field. I have seen this being the case as well. With some encouragement, training, and confidence women are getting out in the field which is a wonderful site :)
